jack ma has suggested all parents need to demand education value  loveq as much as IQ - we can all co-create loveq but roughly what hapened in the colonial industrial age leaders had to boss over million people organsitions i know all their middle mangers had not creative disonance- so iq was a metric of uisng your mind to stop anyone from creating something diferent from tghe elader- this metric is now the least sustainble one classrooms in an era of 4000 more communications tech could spend every second of a child's time on

Ramin Farhangi Biography After 3 years of consulting for the Boston Consulting Group, Ramin realizes that his true calling is in education. Since he was the child who admired his 4th grade teacher, he dreamed of becoming such an adult who would help children grow into independent and happy adults. He decides to take a regular Math teaching job, convinced that he would be one of these rare teachers who will inspire his students and be remembered for life. After a few years practicing this noble and complicated profession, he gets to the conclusion that the actual design of school is an issue (curricula, timetables, age groups, classrooms...).Inspired by Ken Robinson, he realizes that only a very small minority of children can thrive at school: only those who enjoy studying academic disciplines. Searching for radical alternatives, he discovers democratic schools, and more specifically Sudbury Valley School, where children are completely free to live their own lives.Ramin is the cofounder of Ecole Dynamique (2015, Paris) based on the Sudbury concept, and the cofounder of EUDEC France, a network of now 19 democratic schools and 45 projects. His TED Talk reaches beyond 200 000 views.

Mrs. Angel Mi Lin
X SCHOOL
Founder
China

Biography
Mrs. Angel Mi Lin has 20 years of experience in China’s Education and Training Industry. She is the Co-Founder of Global Citizen Training School in Jilin China, leading the school to be a reputable organization in local market but will national reputation. She is now the Co- Founder and CEO of X SCHOOL in Beijing China overseeing its strategic development and daily operations. Receiving education in China and seeing deficiencies in the Chinese education system, Angel began her journey of closing the gap when she was in university in 1995. She started by teaching some “bad students” at her small but cozy home for free in her own way. 12 months later, these students became top students in their classes. Encouraged by this, she began to help more “bad students" and students from economically inferior families whom are conventionally regarded “hopeless” in the China context. By 1997, she already had 120 students, and more students were coming to her. Then her first training centre was set up on the 24th December 1997, and now, the Jilin Global Citizens Training School has grown to be the most popular organization in northern China with over 10,000 students, most of whom are the “bad students” and “poor students”. When most of the Chinese training organizations are focused on test skill training for quick money, Angel saw the serious negative impact this has brought to the Chinese children and youth, including ignorance of life skills and social skills, high academic pressure, isolation from main streams, mental and psychological disorder, dropouts from schools, etc., she established the X SCHOOL in Beijing in 2015, wishing to help Chinese students to involve in international education, survive in international environment and thrive in globalization era. Although what the future world looks like is not yet clear, X SCHOOL strives to close the gap with quality education programs developed over the years and educate Chinese children and youth in ways that better prepare them for the VUCA world so that it can nurture the first generation of global citizens and global leaders who can think globally and act locally. Over 50 parents have joined together as investors to help with the growth of X SCHOOL, and more parents are joining every single day. Angel Mi Lin would very much like to give a short talk, sharing her visions and insights on how a non-government organization can help to supplement the national education system while preparing students for this VUCA world in a very practical way. We would appreciate it greatly if you could please help to make this happen so that her talk can inspire millions more around the globe.

worthe ingterviewing axios at dc - eg this updayte novg 2018  Science is moving at a dizzying pace: around 2.5 million scientific journal articles are published a year around the world, and still the volume keeps climbingBut rather than propel science at an increasing clip, the flood has created information overload — and that threatens to hold back progress.

  • We have written about how artificial intelligence and faster computing are allowing scientists to go after much bigger problems.
  • But part of the problem is also the mundane task of simply keeping up with their field in an age of too much data.

Axios' Kaveh Waddell writesMuch of what scientists do is read each others’ work — for the day’s trends, techniques, and outstanding questions. But the sheer volume means no one can read all the relevant work. Nor can anyone realistically find only the best papers.

This sets up an impossible choice, says Doug Raymond of the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence: A scientist can take the time to understand where her field stands, and risk getting scooped, or publish fast with possibly only incremental results.

So several new projects are using AI to cast a wide net — searching the internet to sift out interesting scientific papers that may otherwise be buried.

  • Mikey Fischer, a Stanford PhD student, created Assert, a site that shows 10 papers at a time, scored by how much they are discussed by influential Twitter accounts and whether their authors published their computer code.
  • Andrew Mauboussin, a Twitter data scientist, wrote PCA News, a feed that searches for tweets about AI-related papers, scoring them based on likes and retweets, the quality of replies, and the influence of the account.
  • The Allen Institute yesterday announced improvements to Semantic Scholar, a popular search engine for academic research. Now, the site shows tweets, videos, presentations, news stories, and computer code next to research.

By turning away from the traditional peer-review system, these new projects reward research that sparks online buzz, and is verifiable by other scientists.

  • "I want a kid in their garage to publish a paper and for it to have impact," says Fischer.
  • Raymond, who manages Semantic Scholar, said the new approaches are "making it easier for new scientists to break through with high-impact and high-risk research in fields where there is just an overwhelming amount of publications to sift through."

But, but but: The rigors of peer review can’t be replaced by 240 characters, and social media can be as much of an echo chamber as the ivory tower.

  • A focus on Twitter chatter means researchers with a large following will see a disproportionate boost.
  • Assert aims for a middle ground by soliciting simple feedback: Readers can rate papers on their quality, leave comments, and ask researchers questions.
